This is a personal(-ish) outfit distribution and replacer for every(-ish) named NPCs in Skyrim, utilizing a good number of outfit mods from Nexus and custom mashups by yours truly. The goal is to reduce outfit repetitions between the common folk (farmers, laborers, etc) and bring a little bit of life into them.

This is still a BETA of a beta, basically. Consider this version 1.0. So far, it covers Whiterun, Riverwood, Rorikstead, Falkreath, and a few NPCs within Riften. Next update should hopefully cover Riften/the Rift Hold.

It has a lot of requirements and recommendations, but none of it is critical for the distribution to function (you just won't get the full distribution if you lack one or two reqs). You could even just take the ESP and BSA for yourself, delete the distribution part, and treat it as a mod that adds random collection of mashups. Every new piece is equippable by the player, though not all have unisex support and none of them have proper inventory models.

I already yapped about it a lot here, you can read that post for a bit more info.

Previews: 1, 2, 3, 4 (and check my screenshot tag)

Requirements:
  • Skypatcher. For the distribution to work.
  • CBBE-compatible female body. All female mashups are made with that body. You'll probably get misaligned nip-nips with UNP.
  • As a precaution, XP32-extended compatible skeleton. (3BA and Racial Body Morphs already include it by default). I made sure to remove any useless genital bones from meshes, but I might have missed some idk

Recommended...ish (for consistency):

  • My personal CBBE and HIMBO preset. Putting the links here in case someone looks at my mashup and wants to complain that the full weight mesh has so much fat. I made it with my personal bodyslide preset in mind, thankyouverymuch
  • Xavbio's retextures
  • Fur Shader Armors
  • Saffir's glasses, Nenya's ear decoration, and some of the flower crown picks are fitted for Ordinary People NPCs, but they might fit vanilla or other people's replacers (I doubt it though). If you find that Nenya's ear decor floats or clips with her face, disable the distribution in SKSE/Plugins/SkyPatcher/outfit/KarurasOrdinaryOutfits_Tweaks/FaceAccessoriesFittedForOrdinaryPeople.ini

How to install the mod:

  • Get Skypatcher.
  • Install all of the required armor and clothing mods, or just a few, but I recommend at least the "recommended" ones. Make sure the ESP is enabled in your mod manager. Unlike Divine Wardrobe where you only need meshes and textures, I decided to reference the clothing's ID from their original mod because who has time to recreate hundreds upon hundreds of ARMO/ARMA records? Not me, that's who.
  • If needed, install the ESL-flagged plugins for Ophelia.esp (the flower crowns) and zzMaidOutfits.esp (for Maiden outfits). You might not need them if you've ESL-flagged them yourself.
  • Install this mod. Whether or not the distribution works depends on if you have another distribution mod that might override this. Divine Wardrobe uses SPID by default and will always override Skypatcher distribution iirc. Same with every other SPID mods.

Features (idk what to call this segment):

There is already a lot of outfit distribution mods on Nexus, the biggest being Divine Wardrobe which was my main-ish inspiration, but many of them often overlook the common folk. Farmers, merchants, laborers, lumberjacks. This is my personal little take on it (I say "little", but the BSA is 650~ MB. Whoops)

Married couples now wear matching wedding bands (placed on their actual ring finger), and you can tell who is married to whom at a glance. Alvor/Sigrid wear a different kind of wedding bands than Gerdur/Hod, for example. Peasants wear copper rings, while nobles wear silver or gold. Some widows or widowers who haven't yet moved on are still wearing their wedding band.

There is now a bigger distinction between nobles and non-nobles. The Battle-Borns proudly wear red to display their allegiance with the Empire. The Gray-Manes wear more muted colors. Bergritte and Fralia no longer dress like peasants, and Olfina no longer wear the same barkeeper's rags that every other barmaid wear (she's a potential steward, dammit). Fralia/Eorlund and Bergritte/Olfrid also possess unique, expensive wedding bands.

As an easter egg, several couples who are in the courting stage are now wearing vanilla silver rings :) It's discreet and doesn't raise too much alarm in my personal headcanon. Not every couple can afford wearing promise rings like this, though.

Some non-Nords who don't take well to the harsh climate of Skyrim have taken to wearing scarves or capes.

Some people don't have great eyesight. They can be seen wearing glasses.

Some Altmer are conscious about their ear shape. Nenya is wearing a pair of these ear shapers.

Nazeem is bedazzled in jewelry worthy of the Cloud District. Constance Michel wears sweater and skirt that matches what the orphans wear in Kids in Nirn. Marcurio, my spoiled and beloved son, gets his own outfit and a sleeveless variant that you can get through console commands or Modex/QUI/AddItem/whatever.

There are random knick-knacks I made to enhance vanilla fine outfits. Mostly capes, cloaks, and fur cloaks.

Warriors and priests are in a different module which requires the main one. There are already so many distribution mods for them already, so it's more of an afterthought for now. But if you decide to use it, you'll find Njada Stonearm with a stone arm :)

(I recommend installing all of them, with the ESP enabled, but you can safely skip a few. Your game won't implode or anything.)

Clothing mods used, in order of importance:

  • AE recommended; I'll use bits and bobs from Creation Club stuff eventually.
  • Common Clothing Expanded (link, link, link) - strongly recommended. It contains the bulk of the outfit distributions, and I made the color variants so download it dammit
  • Maid Outfits (link, link) - recommended. Used for some female Nord farmers, innkeepers, and some noble ladies. The recolor is recommended too; I made the distribution with it in mind.
  • Traveling Priest (link) - recommended. Used for some... wait for it.... priests. It's kind of recommended but not really, because I have my own color-coding headcanon for the priests in Skyrim, but a more refined player might want someone else's distribution or Gods and Worship instead.
  • Publican Outfits (link) - Used for a few NPCs
  • Merchantress Outfits (link) - Used for a few NPCs.
  • Wandering Mercenary (link) - Used for a few... you get the point ok
  • Traveler's Armor (link) - Used for a few NPCs.
  • Fuse's Adventurer Armor (link, link) - Xtudo's patch is recommended. Used for a few carriage drivers and the courier
  • Adventurer's Tunics (link) - Used for a few hostlers and random adventurers here and there--this will be overused in the future lol so I might bump this up to recommended eventually
  • Southbound Scouts (link, link) - Used for a few farmers, and some randos here and there
  • Court Wizard Robes (link) - Used for some court wizards. Similar instance as below.
  • Cultural Bards (link) - Used for some bards (duh). I know the mod has its own distribution; Skypatcher INIs are easy to edit to your liking thankfully.
  • Nord Tribal Armor (link) - Used for some hunters

Armor mods used:

  • Chevalier's Set (link) - honestly my distribution for these is kinda lame, so... whatever.
  • Steelheart Armors (link) - Recommended. Used for a few Nord warriors.
  • Infantry Armor (link, link) - Recommended. Used for a few warriors. Xtudo's patch is needed because I distributed their steel variants too.
  • Northern God (link) - Used for Kodlak.
  • Highlander Armor (link) - Used for only Ria, so far.

Accessories used:

  • Nirn Necessities (link) - Recommended.
  • Scarves of Skyrim (link) - Recommended
  • Blanket Scarves Earth Tones(link)
  • Ophelia Circlets (link)
  • Jewelry Collection (link) - Recommended
  • Reading Glasses (link) - Recommended

NPCs with custom mashups are (so far):

  • Alvor
  • Olfina Gray-Mane
  • Adrianne Avenicci
  • Nazeem
  • Saffir, Zaria (custom mashup for some female Redguards)
  • Amren (scarf from Rihad armor set)
  • Some lumberjacks
  • Jouane Manette (Breton noble doublet that's probably gonna be recolored and used for other Breton nobles)
  • Siddgeir
  • Nenya
  • Svana Far-Shield
  • Constance Michel
  • my son Marcurio

Known issues:

  • I made custom circlet for Siddgeir and Kynareth priests, but for some reason they're invisible in game, so I removed them from the outfit record for now. The meshes, textures, and ARMA/ARMO records are still there in case anyone wants to take a look or take a crack at fixing it
